Because, why not? It was really hot in Ottawa on the Victoria Day long weekend, really beautiful and really hot. The lilacs and apple trees were out in full bloom, their intoxicating scents could be caught whenever the breeze kicked up. The long summer-like afternoons made me long for a shady spot, from which to enjoy this refreshing drink. I think it's about time for me to invest in a large sun umbrella for my backyard oasis.

Lilac Gin & Tonic

1 shot Hendricks gin

1 shot lilac syrup

Tonic

Ice

In a glass full of ice, pour over the gin and syrup, top up with tonic and give it a little stir. Ahhh enjoy.
