This cocktail needs some work, I won't lie. It was enjoyable, but not nearly as delicious as the one I had at Local 1794 a few weeks ago. Perhaps it was because I omitted walnut bitters that they used?
Maple Bacon Old Fashioned
2 oz bourbon
1/2 oz maple syrup
2 dashes angostura bitters
1 slice smoked bacon, cooked
1 piece of orange peel
ice
In a cocktail shaker add ice, bourbon, maple syrup, and bitters. Shake well and strain into a chilled glass with fresh ice. Twist the orange peel over the top of the glass, allowing the orange oil to spray into the glass, then press the peel around the rim of the glass to transfer a bit more oil to the glass.
Garnish with bacon.
